ServerIronGT E-Series Layer 4-7 Application Switches and NetIron 40G IPv6 Service Provider Router Win Best of Show Awards at Networld + Interop Tokyo 2004
San Jose, CA, July 7, 2004 - Foundry Networks®, Inc. (Nasdaq: FDRY) a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today announced that its products earned two "Best of Show" awards at Networld + Interop (N+I) Tokyo 2004, Asia's largest telecommunications and network technology event, which took place last week in Chiba, Japan.
Foundry's new ServerIron®GT E-series family of Layer 4-7 application switches earned the "Grand Prix" award as Best Infrastructure product for Enterprises, while Foundry's NetIron® 40G router earned a "Special Prize" award, second only to Cisco, in the ISP and Carrier Infrastructure category.

"We are delighted to earn honors in both the enterprise and service provider categories in Tokyo."
About the ServerIronGT E-Series Switches
Introduced in June 2004, the ServerIronGT E-Series is the industry's highest-performance family of application management/Layer 4-7 web appliances, and includes multi-Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet models with performance and port expandability for maximum investment protection.
Built for deployment within business-critical application and server farm infrastructures, the ServerIronGT E-series family includes the industry's first high-availability 10-Gigabit Ethernet application management appliance. The E-series products enable users to build and deploy scalable, high-performance and robust application server farms with a comprehensive set of load balancing methods, in-depth network defense and intelligent and configurable content inspection and switching. The E-series switches protect the integrity and availability of mission-critical services and applications with a suite of network defense measures including extended access control lists, detection and mitigation of distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS), protection against viruses and worms, and policy-based security control for network-level SPAM mitigation.
About the NetIron 40G Router
The NetIron 40G is Foundry's Terabit-capacity service provider 10-Gigabit Ethernet router, designed for carriers and ISPs who need a complete, robust set of IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and IS-IS for Internet-grade routing. It leverages Foundry's fourth generation Terathon switching ASICs, which feature wire-speed routing and switching and a non-blocking architecture to enable the next generation of enterprise and service provider networks. The NetIron 40G router offers high-performance features such as hitless failover with non-stop forwarding, extensive scalability, granular bandwidth management and secure network and management access.
Using the NetIron 40G router, Foundry demonstrated wire-speed, 480 million packets-per-second IPv6 routing at N+I Tokyo, as well as announcing immediate availability of wire-speed dual stack IPv4/IPv6 10-Gigabit Ethernet switching and routing solutions for the Japanese market.
